Holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Cape Town.
During his honours, his thesis focused on competition and platform dynamics in the operating systems market, using large-scale panel data and econometric analysis to examine market share determinants, network effects, and the impact of platform discontinuation in the European Union.
Tom is a broadcaster and producer at 5FM, where he hosts 5 Weekend Early Mornings and contributes to the station’s Creative Hub, working across live presenting, content development, and campaign ideation for national radio.
